Windows Timeline support is being removed from Microsoft Launcher on Android

Microsoft'south Timeline feature on Windows 10 has seen little success since it's debut, with only a scattering of applications really taking advantage of the cross-device syncing capabilities that Timeline provides. While Timeline is even so part of Windows 10 today, other Microsoft products appear to be moving away from it in favor of a more traditional "recents" UI.

In the latest Microsoft Launcher beta, a new notification is present that tells the user that Timeline support inside the Microsoft Launcher is going away, and that users should instead use the recents interface establish in the Launcher feed, Microsoft Role, and Windows Search.

This doesn't paint a very good picture for the hereafter of Timeline on Windows, merely if we're honest, that's non a bad matter. Timeline was a groovy thought that was executed poorly. A feature that's designed to surface contempo documents and files should accept been placed in the "starting time" card from the very beginning, not Task View.

Microsoft hasn't appear that Timeline is going away on Windows, only information technology is going away on the Mircrosoft Launcher. Perhaps nosotros'll run into Timeline morph into something else on Windows 10 in the future, or peradventure Microsoft will but go out it to stagnate further like they take for many other Windows 10 features (looking at yous, My People.)

Are you an active Timeline user? How do y'all feel near it being removed from the Microsoft Launcher on Android? Let the states know in the comments.

Thank you for the tip, Tiago.
